Carbon-based compounds

The Flagship Second Generation Carbon-based compounds aims to develop clean, efficient and otherwise sustainable industrial processes for carbon-based chemical building blocks mainly for the chemicals, materials and fuels industries. The research focuses on the conversion of lignocellulosic materials (first & second generation) and other bio-based feedstocks (glycerol, alcohols, acids and furanics) including their contaminants into relevant products.
