International

The strong international focus of BE-Basic is reflected by the membership of the consortium of several leading institutions in the EU: Imperial College from the UK and Karlsruhe University of Technology and Technische Universität Dortmund from Germany. Moreover BE-Basic puts its international focus into practice through strategic partnerships in a selected number of countries: Brazil, Malaysia, the U.S.A. and Vietnam.

Value chain

With partnerships in these countries BE-Basic aims to cover the whole value chain: primary access to the biomass (waste) product, R&D cooperation with the relevant stakeholders, creating innovation and implementation leverage. International collaboration of BE-Basic is not limited to these countries and may also occur on a smaller scale in selected projects in other countries.

Key deliverables

The key deliverables of international collaboration within BE-Basic are:

  1. joint scientific and technological publications,
  2. successful piloting and field studies accelerating technology development and transfer,
  3. building human capital for the fast expanding biobased industry both in partner countries and in the Netherlands, and
  4. facilitating BE-Basic consortium partners to gain access to the international markets and technologies and facilitating international partners in investments in the Netherlands and gain access to Netherlands-owned technologies.

Contact

For each of the countries there will be a first point of contact of BE-Basic with respect to reporting, highlights, IP and communication actions, hereafter indicated as “Custodian”. The Custodian is the primary responsible person, initiator, and mediator for all contacts between the international program/consortium and BE Basic.
